Teaching SPECIAL FORCES How To Fight (S.W.A.T)
By Jesse Enkamp on
Learn how special forces or SWAT teams can fight opponents in close quarter combat, as MMA fighter Oliver Enkamp (UFC, Bellator) and his brother Jesse "The Karate Nerd" teach a seminar for Insatsstyrkan.
These clinch fighting techniques, takedowns and throws are perfect for controlling a criminal - especially against the wall. Combined with elbow strikes, knees and headbutts, you can neutralize any opponent.
Fun fact - if you analyse the solo expressions of these techniques, you'll see them in traditional Karate kata from Okinawa - the birthplace of Karate. This is because bunkai (kata applications) were meant to be used in close-quarter fighting, as opposed to the modern long-distance interpretation of kata's meaning and function.
After all, the original purpose of Karate was self-defense. Real fighting usually happens up close - not far away. Because that's when you either run away (as civilian) or grab your gun (as a law enforcement professional).
