Understanding Karate Stances: Part 5 of 6

By Practical Kata Bunkai on

https://iainabernethy.com/ In these series of videos, I demonstrate and discuss the functional use of stances. They are not intended to be static potions, but positions we flow to and through in order to effectively transfer bodyweight, ensure stability and limit the enemy’s motion. I show a lot of examples from a wide variety of kata so the students at the event could better understand the principles in play. I will add a new video each week until all six parts are available to view. This video series first appeared in the iain abernethy app (available from Google Play and the Apple App Store). If you are serious about pragmatic karate, then the hundreds of hours of instructional information in the app provides an in-depth and ever-growing resource (the app is updated with new material each week): https://iainabernethy.com/iain-abernethys-applied-karate-kata-bunkai-app You can also find the app by searching “iain abernethy” in the App Store or Google Play. I hope that you enjoy this video. As mentioned above, if you do like it, and want to see more, then please check out the iain abernethy app for well over two-thousand hours of in-depth instruction on a whole load of practical karate topics! All the best, Iain
